I'm an EMT/paramedic graduate and attend nursing school.I have two beautiful children.I've always been athletic softball,track-n-field, running 5k's to marathon. So I wanted to try something different.I googled boxing and Derby City popped up. I came for 1 class and was immediately hooked.It's an addiction!!I have never experienced such intense training like this! Especially when Alex drag's out his counts on 1 2's,Markas 250 knee kicks, and Jo's gator walks.I remember in High School the guy I was dating, him and his buddies would gather in the basement once a week and box. Well it looked like fun so I wanted to try it, so they let me. When it came to box my boyfriend he was making fun of me, so I punched him as hard as I could. He lost his balance,grabbed his mouth and was bleeding.I had busted his mouth and chipped his tooth. He was sooo mad at me because his buddies were giving him a hard way to go!Let's put it this way that was the last time I boxed and he'll always have a memory of me when he looks in the mirror.I had forgotten about that story til now.I had never thought in a million that I would be learning martial art's. Anyway's I love it! I love it! and I want to Thank everyone for making me feel welcomed and part of the Derby City family!!! |
